Code of Ethics As a Diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery
Our diplomates of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery pride themselves on upholding the highest standards in all aspects of their cosmetic surgery practice. Not only must they demonstrate excellence in surgical skill, aesthetics, and patient care, but ABCS surgeons also represent exceptional moral character.
Our diplomates have passed rigorous screening
We conduct a thorough screening and background check on each applicant to ensure that no diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery has a history of substance abuse or a criminal record. Additionally, applicants must submit proof of a current valid and unrestricted medical license.
Our diplomates honor & uphold our Code of Ethics
At the ABCS, we consider everything we do to be an opportunity to improve public understanding of the roles of board certified cosmetic surgeons in the advancement of the broader medical community. We take our roles as the standard-bearers in the cosmetic surgery specialty very seriously. Each of our diplomates pledges to act ethically, compassionately, and with the utmost integrity in all aspects of his or her professional and personal life. Many of our diplomates are also qualified to serve as expert witnesses and reviewers for state and local medical board cases involving cosmetic surgery.
