Dr. Husam Elias

About The Practice

Dr. Husam Elias is a member of an elite group of surgeons who are dually trained in both Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and General Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr. Elias, an accomplished surgeon, who held the position of section head of Maxillofacial surgery at the internationally renowned Cleveland Clinic Head and Neck Institute and served as medical staff member for the NBA Cleveland Cavaliers. He also held a position as staff surgeon at the Head and Neck / Maxillofacial surgery department at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, one of America’s top hospitals.

Dr. Elias was born and raised in Sudan, East Africa, where he completed his undergraduate degree graduating the top of his class at University of Khartoum, moved to the US following his dream of becoming a surgeon. He received his medical degree (MD) from the prestigious Case Western Reserve University and dental degree (DMD) from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of dental medicine graduating with honors.

Dr. Elias completed an internship in General surgery, residency in Maxillofacial surgery at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and University Hospitals of Cleveland/ Rainbow Babies and Children hospital. He completed a general cosmetic surgery fellowship accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic surgery at Inland Cosmetic Surgery Medical Center directed by Dr. Jacob Haiavy.

Due to Dr. Elias’s commitment to excellent patient care and education, he lectured nationally and internationally in both the field of Cosmetic surgery and Oral & Maxillofacial surgery. He currently holds academic positions as Clinical assistant professor of surgery at Case Western Reserve University and University of Khartoum in Sudan, East Africa, he is a Clinical instructor and Lecturer for UCLA and Harbor UCLA Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency programs. Dr. Elias has many publications in cosmetic, oral and maxillofacial surgery published in prestigious journal.

Dr. Husam Elias is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons, California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons and California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

With background in both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, Dr. Elias has developed a unique practice that encompasses a wide range of cosmetic,  maxillofacial surgeries. He is an expert in facial and body contouring, facial rejuvenation, rhinoplasty and corrective jaw surgery. A pioneer in TMJ surgery, he developed a new technique for managment of TMJ disorders using stem cells harvested fromliposuction fat.
