Dr. Justin Gusching

Dr. Justin Gusching is triple board-certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (ABCS), the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery (ABFCS) and the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS). He did his cosmetic surgery fellowship through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) at Southern Surgical Arts. He has since been refining his artistic eye and his excellence in cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Gusching is sincere with each patient and always has the patient’s best interest in mind. Dr. Gusching takes great pride in helping his patients reach their goals and, although somewhat early in his career, has already been recognized for his hard work and expertise. During his time here, Southern Surgical Arts was named Best of The Best North Georgia in cosmetic surgery. Dr. Gusching has given multiple lectures at the AACS national conference, published in the ABFCS Newsletter, and is named a “Body Contouring Surgeon of Excellence” by the Surgical Review Corporation. Dr. Gusching’s commitment to the field of cosmetic surgery does not end here, as he also enjoys training talented surgical fellows who are then eligible to become certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr. Gusching, although very dedicated to the field of cosmetic surgery, still finds time to give back.

Every year he travels to Guatemala as a volunteer general surgeon, attending to hundreds of patients in desperate need. In less than two weeks, Dr. Gusching and his colleagues complete over 200 surgeries in a single operating room with little space. In his words, “It kind of grounds you and reminds you why you went into medicine in the first place.”

His sense of mission and purpose was also extended to the Ohio Army National Guard, where he serves as a field surgeon and has worked numerous long hours in combat medical facilities. He recently finished a tour in Iraq where he served in combat as a field surgeon as well as the interim medical director. He has been awarded with saving multiple lives while overseas.

Dr. Gusching received his medical degree from Ohio University in Athens, OH and graduated as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. The university’s focus is training osteopathic physicians, emphasizing the “whole-person approach to treatment and care.” Dr. Gusching completed his five-year general surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic-South Pointe Hospital, where he was appointed chief of surgery in his fifth year. He completed his advanced surgical fellowship in cosmetic surgery at Southern Surgical Arts.

He is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.
